After the 1914-18 War, about 360 acres of "Merino Downs" estate were bought for soldier settlement, and Messrs :

SAUNDERS
set up dairy farms; but the allotments were too small and one farm was divided up among the other three.
Wurt Wurt Koort Soldier Settlers, WW2
In 1948 a portion of Wurt Wurt Koort estate was purchased by the Soldier Settlement Commission, who settled 26 returned soldiers on about 4000 acres. The original settlers were:
