Judy Nicol passed away on Boxing Day at Gandarra, Ballarat. A thanksgiving service was held for her at the Neil St Uniting Church last Monday, 30th December.

Judy was one of the early members of the Society. She helped the Society in many ways over a number of years. She was a wonderful lady, so generous, warm and kind hearted. She will be dearly missed by her many friends at the Society.

Judy wanted to be remembered as in the verse below.

I'd like the memory of me
      to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
      whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
      and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
      to dry before the sun
      of happy memories
that I leave when life is done.
