John Thomas 'Jack' BIGGIN was born at Karnak in the West Wimmera in 1886, but attended school at Digby in south-west Victoria which explains why he has a tree in each of the Booroopki and Digby Avenues of Honour. He was listed as a "Carrier", aged 31 at the time of his death. The tree in honour of Pte Jack BIGGIN at Booroopki was planted by Miss Gwen BULL. The tree in honour of Pte Jack BIGGIN at Digby was planted by Mr J M BIGGIN.
