Samuel KENTVictoria Police Gazette, May 1, 1856 page 155
"A warrant has been granted by the Melbourne Bench for the arrest of one Samuel KENT, for deserting his lawful wife, Barbara KENT. Description:- 36 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, broad face, sandy whiskers meeting under the chin, stout made, dark auburn hair, short upper lip, light eyebrows, and fair complexion; a native of the north of England. He formerly kept the Golden Age Hotel, Magpie Gully, Ballaarat, and is a blacksmith by trade. Information to the Superintendent of Detective Police, Melbourne. - 24th April, 1856."
