John SMITH b. c1816 Inverness-shire, Scotland, son of Charles SMITH and Mary CATTANACH was married in Victoria in 1868 to Catherine McINNES b. 1849 Inverness-Shire, Scotland, daughter of John McINNES and Flora McDONALD. Catherine McINNES was the younger sister of Kate McINESS who was married to Neil McRAE.
John had a previous marriage as he was a widow when married in 1868 but nothing is currently known of the first marriage.
