Dr William Alexander MORTON was the Doctor based a Merino and Digby in the early 1900s. He joined the AIF and was a Major when he was discharged. He was awarded the DSO on 1 January 1919. He has a tree in the WW1 Digby Avenue of Honour.
William Alexander MORTON b. 1874, West Melbourne, Vic, son of David Murray MORTON and Ellen Elizabeth MAGUIRE was married in 1916, Victoria to Winifred Agnes Cecelia TOURAINE, b. ca 1895 ____________, dau of Hermann TOURAINE and Agnes HANLEY. Winifred died in 1921 and William married again to Catherine CONNELL.
