Alexander McRAE and family arrived in Australia in 1852. The family worked on "Glenlivet" for three years, for Francis HENTY of "Merino Downs" for two years, John COLDHAM of "Grassdale" for two years and for Samuel WINTER at "Murndal" (or "Spring Valley") for 14 years where, for some time, Duncan was Overseer. They selected land at Murra Walla (Parish of Wallup) in 1873/74 and all the family went to live there. [Source: Judith Wills]
Alexander McRAE was a brother of Duncan McRAE of "Glenlivet Station" near Digby and Murdoch McRAE of "Ardgarton" Station, Digby.
