Lachlan McLEAN b. 1823 Isle of Skye, Scotland, son of William McLEAN and Ann McKINNON was married in 1850 on the Isle of Skye to Janet McSWAIN b. 1830 Isle of Skye, Scotland, daughter of Paul McSWAIN and Janet ___. The family lived at Grassdale near Digby and later moved to Omeo in north east Victoria. Lachlan and Jane McLEAN had the following children:
1865 - In the Digby Court of Petty Sessions, 31 May 1865, Charles WHYTE of Hotspur applied for and was granted a transfer of his General Publican's Licence for the Crawford Inn at Hotspur to Loughlan McLEAN. 1867 - In the Digby Court of Petty Sessions, 26 Jun 1867, Lachlan McCLEAN of Hotspur applied for and was granted a transfer of his General Publican's Licence for the Crawford Inn at Hotspur to John McEACHERN. L. McLEAN as listed as an early landowner on the Hotspur Parish map. Rachel McLEAN as listed as an early landowner on the Hotspur Parish map. A. McLEAN was listed as an early landowner on the Hotspur Parish map. Many members of this family group had moved to Omeo by the 1890's.
