James LAW b. 1838 Scotland, son of Robert LAW and Ann CRAWFORD married in 1866 in Victoria to Margaret Salmon DICKSON b. 1843 Scotland, daughter of Walter DICKSON and Janet MANAB (?).

James and Margaret LAW had the following known family, including Archibald LAW who who served with the 1st AIF in WW1, and obtained a Soldier Settlement Block on Glenorchy Estate near Merino in south west Victoria.
