Three brothers, Henry HISCOCK, James HISCOCK & Edwin HISCOCK along with their families emigrated from Dorset, England to Victoria, Australia in the 1850's. James and Edwin settled at Hotspur and Henry settled near Geelong and later at Pyramid Hill.

James HISCOCK b. 1826 Somerset, England married 1854 Dorsetshire to Jane COBB b. 1833 Dorsetshire and had the following children:
- Mary Arabella HISCOCK b. 1859 Digby, Vic;
- Eliza Caroline HISCOCK b. 1861 Grassdale, Vic;
- Sarah Augusta HISCOCK b. 1872 Hotspur, Vic., m. Andrew Charles CAMPBELL
