John HAWKINS c1815-1865 & Frances "Fanny" LAMB c1810-1858
Somerset, England & Digby, Victoria, Australia John HAWKINS b. c. 1815 Somersetshire, England, son of John HAWKINS and ____ was married to Frances "Fanny" LAMB b. c.1810. Frances LAMB may have been the daughter of William LAMB and Mary OSBORN from Corton Denham, Somersetshire, England. It appears the family was in Van Diemen's Land where a daughter was born c.1844 and then another at Portland, Victoria in 1845 and a son at Heywood, Victoria abt.1848. Frances "Fanny" Fanny HAWKINS died at Digby, Victoria in 1858 is buried in the Digby Cemetery. John HAWKINS, Carrier of Digby, made his will on 16 Jul 1865 at Digby in which he left his estate to his wife Jane, daughter Fanny HIDE and sons Eli and John. John Hawkins died the next day at Digby and is buried in the Digby Cemetery. The will indicates John had a second marriage after his first wife Frances died in 1858. This second wife was Jane (nee HORTON) who died at Digby in 1899 aged 88y and is also buried in the Digby Cemetery. John HAWKINS c1815-1865 & Frances "Fanny" LAMB had the following known children:
