William James HARVEY b. c.1837, son of John James HARVEY and ___ was reported to have jumped ship in Portland ca 1850, worked as a Drover and built "Pine Grove" at Digby. His daughters, Caroline and Augusta were pupils at Digby School in the early 1880's.

William HARVEY married in 1860 to Ellen BURNS b. 1834 at Portland, daughter of Patrick BURNS and Bridget KYLE / KEYLEY.

Ellen BURNS is a sister of Mary BURNS 1837-1915 who married John WALSH and also lived at Digby.

William HARVEY was a member of the Digby Ancient Order of Foresters in 1871-1872.

William and Ellen HARVEY are both buried in the Digby Cemetery in 1902 and 1914 respectively.
