Alfred FARLEY was one of the early settlers in Digby. Formerly a Sea Captain of the "Enterprise" which was wrecked near Warrnambool. He became the Digby Pound Keeper and Licensee of the Digby Hotel. Alfred D. FARLEY b. 1818 London was first married to Martha _____ who died at Cape Bridgewater in the 1850's. He was then married in Portland, 1854 to Catherine CUNNEEN b. 1836 Limerick, Ireland and they had the following 9 children:

  3. Annabella Louise McKenzie FARLEY b. 1857 Portland, mar Sterne DONEHUE in 1879;
  4. Margaret Elizabeth FARLEY b. 1859 Digby, mar George JENKINS in 1885;
  5. William Henry Lamb FARLEY b. 1861 Digby, d. NSW ?;
  6. Albert Frederick FARLEY b. 1862 Digby. d. c 1952, Townsville, QLD, m. Ella Constance MUNN;
  7. Thomas Lawrence Webb FARLEY b. 1864 Digby;
  8. Richard James Owens FARLEY b. 1866 Digby, d. 1956;
  9. Alice Beatrice FARLEY b. 1870 Merino, d. 1950, mar George James BURGESS in 1900.

A. T. FARLEY was listed as one of the buyers of the first Digby town allotments.
