Hugh CAMERON b. c 1821 Fort William, Inverness, Scotland, son of Duncan CAMERON and Catherine KENNEDY married in 1850 at Paisley, Scotland to Janet McFARLANE, b. 1821, Argyllshire, Scotland, daughter of Malcolm McFARLANE and Catherine McLEAN.

The couple arrived as assisted immigrants to Victoria at Geelong on the "Bourneuf" 3 Sep 1852 after sailing from Liverpool on 20 May 1852. A daughter Catherine had been born in Scotland (probably died before they left) and additional children were born in Geelong and Western Victoria.

Hugh CAMERON died in 1912 at Penshurst, Victoria after a second marriage and additional children as Janet had died earlier in 1871 at "Devon Park" Station near Dunkeld, Victoria and was buried at Penshurst.

Hugh's first wife Janet died in 1871 at Devon Park Station near Dunkeld and he married again to Sarah Marion BEATON b. ca 1840 Dundee, Sct in 1876. Their children were:
