George Edward BROWN b. 1833 Kent, England, son of Stephen BROWN and Martha SCOTT, married, 1857 Melbourne, Vic to Ann BELL b. 1834 Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland, dau of Andrew BELL and Isabel WOOD.

George BROWN was a carpenter at "Ardgarton" Station near Digby in the 1870s.

George BROWN and Ann BELL had the following children:

1. Henry Edward BROWN b. 1856 Collingwood, Vic, d. 1858;

2. Isabella BROWN b. 1858 Sandridge, Vic, m. Charles BARKER;

3. William BROWN b. 1860 Creswick, Vic, m. Frances SIMKIN in 1887 at Digby. William was a selector at Digby, later "Wyndarra", Hamilton and they had the following family;
