South Australia & Digby, Vic, Aus Samuel BALLINGER b. c1833, son of Edward BALLINGER and ____ was married in 1858 in Adelaide, South Australia to Mary Ann SANDERS, b. c1838, daughter of Thomas SANDERS and they had two daughters born in South Australia, one of whom died as an infant. It appears that Mary Ann SANDERS died in Adelaide in 1867. The surviving daughter, Harriet BALLINGER was christened at Digby in 1873 with her father Samuel listed as a labourer of Digby. Samuel BALLINGER appears to have died in Melbournein 1903. Harriet married a James SMITH in 1880 and they had two children and it would appear that James died as Harriet married a William MANN in Victoria in 1889 and they had ar least 4 children.
