John McINTYRE c1843-1920

John McINTYRE b.1843, Isle of Skye, Inverness-shire, Scotland, son of John McINTYRE and Mary McKAY was one of the family members to emigrate to Australia and arrived at Portland, Victoria on the "New Zealander" in November 1853.

John operated a Butcher shop in Henty Street, Casterton and was a Glenelg Shire Councillor for almost 50 years including a number of terms as Shire President.

John McINTYRE, who remained single, was the eldest child in the family of:
