John ILLINGWORTH b. ca 1836, Lancashire, England, son of Robert ILLINGWORTH and Sarah BAILEY was married to Sarah Jane CULLIFORD, b. ca 1838, daughter of George CULLIFORD and ____ SMITH.
John ILLINGWORTH was the Coach Builder, in the 1882 Commercial Sector Plan of Henty Street, Casterton.
John ILLINGWORTH and family were in Ballarat before coming to Casterton and taking over Alexander McBEAN's Shoeing Forge opposite the Glenelg Inn. The forge was taken over in 1882 and was expanded to become ILLINGWORTH's Coach Building and Buggy Factory.
John and his wife Sarah are both buried in the Casterton Cemetery.
