Casterton Community Museum Opening Times:
  • Open 11am to 3pm, 1st & 3rd Sundays of the Month.
  • Excludes Public Holiday Weekends, Christmas and Easter. Closed all of January reopens 2nd February.
  • The Casterton Community Museum has obtained Donor Gift Recipient endorsement by the Australian Taxation Office. If you would like to make a donation to the Museum, all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible. All donations go towards the conservation and preservation of the Museum Collection.

  • February 20th, General Meeting: - 7PM, Casterton RSL - "Walk through Casterton New Cemetery". All welcome. 7pm meeting, 7.30pm walk, followed by supper.
  • March 16th, Dergholm Memorial Hall: - 12:30 onwards, Dergholm Memorial Hall. BBQ, BYO food and drinks. Inviting all Past and current residents to a gathering/get together. Vern McCallum photograph exhibition and Casterton and District Historical Society Inc. will be present. Bring along your old photographs and memorabilia.

  • March 30th, Field Trip Identifying former State School Sites - Dergholm & District Sunday 30th March, Meet at 10:30am Railway Station or 11am Dergholm Hall.
  • April 16th, General Meeting: - 7PM, Casterton, RSL, Guest Speaker - Mrs Rosemary Lewis, Principal, Casterton Primary School. Rosemary will be talking about the Major Norman McDonald Photographic Exhibition which the Grade 6 children have put together in conjunction with the Historical Society and Vern McCallum for Anzac Day.
  • April 25th, Anzac Day: - Casterton Town Hall, Major Norman McDonald's Photograph Album exhibition. Funded by Victorian Veterans Fund
  • May 23rd, Annual Dinner Meeting: - 7pm Casterton Hotel 100th Anniversary of current building. Guest speakers will be former publicans Mick and Kaye Murrell.
  • JUNE AND JULY: - NO MEETINGS
  • AUGUST 20th, Annual General Meeting: - 2pm RSL, Guest Speaker - John "Skeet" McKay, author of "Streets of Hamilton".
  • August 30th & 31st, "Digby Revisited": - Family History Expo and Vern McCallum Photographic exhibition, "Back to" – Digby State School, August 30th and 31st - Digby Hall. Family History Expo Flyer. Many historical societies and family history groups on site. Supported by South West Community Foundation and Glenelg Shire Council. Come along and explore information about your family tree.
  • August 30th & 31st "Pioneer Women of Casterton and District" Photographic Exhibition, Sat 10:00am-5:00pm, Sun 10:00-4:00pm, Digby Memorial Hall in conjunction with the "Digby Revisted" Expo.
  • September 17th, General Meeting: - 7PM, Casterton RSL
  • September 28th, Field Trip Identifying former State School Sites - Lake Mundi & District, Sunday 28th September, Meet at 10:30am Railway Station or 11am Corndale Fire Station.
