Duncan McPHERSON b. ca 1785, Inverness, Scotland who was the son of Donald McPHERSON and Margaret ___ was married in 1825 at Kingussie & Insch, Inverness, Scotland to Georgiana McKINNON, b. 1805, Kingussie, INV, Sct, daughter of Donald McKINNON and Elizabeth CAMPBELL.

This family appears to have emigrated to Port Phillip on the ship "Courier" in 1849. The shipping records indicate that Duncan McPHERSON was 55 and his wife Georgiana was 42. The children listed were: Georgiana (22), Margaret (20), Maria (18), John (17), Donald (12), Duncan (10) and Eliza Campbell (8).

One of their sons was John Russell McPHERSON 1832-1905 who owned the property known as "Phoines" at Carapook until his death in 1905. John was listed as the brother-in-law of William ROBERTSON (1811-1864) of Wando Vale.
