Patrick McDONNELL, b. abt 1825, Co Clare, Ireland, son of ____? d. 1874, Carapook, Victoria, Australia was married in 1852, Co Clare, Ireland to Bridget HOURIGAN, b. ca 1833 Co Clare, Ireland, daughter of Patrick HOURIGAN and Elizabeth HEHIR.

It appears that the family was living at Mt Gambier, South Australia where a number of children were born and at "Muntham" Station where Bridget (the mother) died in 1866.

Patrick & Bridget McDONNELL and infant son John arrived on the "Hooghly" at Portland, Victoria in 1854. The moved to Mount Gambier, South Australia and their son John died in 1854.

Eight more children were born in South Australia and Victoria from 1855-1866.

Bridget McDONNELL (nee HOURIGAN) died at "Muntham Station" near Carapook in 1866 and was buried in the Coleraine Cemetery. When she died Bridget left 7 children ranging in age from 11y to 2y.

Patrick McDONNELL, aged 48y died at Carapook in 1874 and was also buried in the Coleraine Cemetery. When he died Patrick left 7 children ranging in age from 19y to 10y.
