Hercules & Elizabeth DANCOCKS, along with four children arrived at Portland, Australia in 1852 on the "Priam".

Hercules Hailes DANCOCKS was appointed as a Manager at "Muntham" Station and later operated a butcher shop in Casterton.

Edward Bearcroft DANCOCKS, one of the sons purchased the Casterton Hotel in 1887 and is shown on the 1882 Henty Street Plan as being an Overseer.

The three DANCOCKS sons married three FOSTER sisters, daughters of Charles Haydock FOSTER (1821-1879) and Mary O'BRIEN (1821-1907).
