Elvira JONES (nee JAMES) was born to Thomas JAMES and Mary DAVIES abt. 1852 at Glamorgan. In 1868 she married Thomas JONES of Bristol. Their children – Mary Jane (ROWLANDS) 1869-1957, Elizabeth 1870-1870, Henry – 1872-1872 and John James abt. 1878-1915. Thomas was buried Ballarat New Cemetery on 16.05.1917 aged 73 years. Elvira was buried with Thomas on 16.04.1927. Their headstone – Jones/ Son John J. Jones/d 16 April 1915, 37 years/father, Thomas Jones/d 15 May 1917, 73 years/mother, Elvira Jones/d. 15 April 1922, 75 years. In the B.D.M. and Cemetery indexes Elvira death year is 1927.
